My first Blog post.

Well, after much encouragement from my friends, I have started my blog. My plans are to document our travels.



I am Joyce, my husband is Jim; we have a 4 year old Bichon Frise named Daisy. We are full-time Rv'ers. We live very comfortably in a 2004 Phaeton motorhome.



We started our adventure in Massachusetts in October of 2007. From Massachusetts, we drove to Pennsylvania on our first night "full-timing". As it was October, the campground we stayed in had already shut off the water. We decided to continue on south to where at least the water was turned on!!!



We made it through Virginia and into South Carolina where we stopped to visit my sister and her family. We had a wonderful week there. We saw our first dolphins swimming just outside the breakwater in Myrtle Beach. From there we traveled on through Georgia and then into Florida. We stopped for a week in Tallahassee waiting for our mail.



From Tallahassee, we went on to Fort Walton Beach, Florida to visit my brother-in-law and sister-in-law. We were very lucky to spend Thanksgiving with them. We moved on to Alabama where we stopped in Red Bay to have work done on our Phaeton at the Tiffin Motorhome factory. What a wonderful place Red Bay is!!! Bob Tiffin has made many good improvements to his facility. We took a factory tour with our tour guide Red. He was very informative and active for a retired employee!!!



From Red Bay, we traveled through Mississippi where we stopped in Tupelo to visit Elvis' birthplace. We spend a good amount of time there, taking pictures and speaking with the guides. Since we were so close, we decided to take the Natchez Trace south from Tupelo to Natchez. It was an informative trip. The Natchez Trace is a very nice historic drive and the "highway" very easily accommodated our RV with car attached.

From Mississippi, we traveled into Louisiana where we crossed the Mississippi river for the first time in our lives. We were both very excited, as we had never been that far west before. At last, we were in Texas!!! We spent our first night just outside of Houston, in an RV park that was right under the flight path for the LBJ airport!!!!! We did not stay there long!!!

We ended lup spending Christmas and New Year's in Lake Corpus Christi Texas. We enjoyed a very nice Christmas dinner in the Rec Hall of the park. We met many new friends. The Campground owners provided the Turkey, Dressing, Potatoes and Gravy. All other menu items were brought by the guests. What a wonderful meal!! For New Year's Eve, we played Mexican Train Dominoes with our new found friends. We rang in the New Year with Wine & good fellowship.
